Education Conference 2024

Top speakers will take part in Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust's largest ever training day.

Almost 500 teaching staff, teaching assistants and admin teams will descend on the Trust's headquarters and schools in Louth on Friday, 12th April.

They will hear from the likes of education adviser and writer Mary Myatt, psychologist and blogger Bradley Busch, best-selling author and English teacher Jennifer Webb; lead practitioner in mathematics Amarbeer Singh Gill and primary specialist Chris Quigley.

The day will also include sessions on the Maths Hub Programme, SEND and mental health and wellbeing.

LGAT Chief Executive Officer Martin Brown was proud of the Trust's commitment to Continuous Professional Development.

"CPD is at the core of what we do and how we improve," he said.

"I'm delighted we have been able to secure some of the country's best-known names in education to support us in this objective.

"Friday, 12th April will mark the first inset day organised for all our teaching staff. We hope everyone finds it enormously beneficial."

Each of its seven academies is different – something that is encouraged – but it is one Trust.

"Working collaboratively with colleagues maximises opportunities to deliver the best teaching and learning experiences for our students," Martin said.

"A wealth of experience has been developed within our academies that can provide professional development for teachers and support teams at every level.

"Access to bespoke professional learning opportunities, personalised to the needs of our staff, is integral to the development of our Trust.

"This is why the training day is so significant."

He was grateful to everyone who will travel to and be involved in the day. Its locations will be split across Louth Academy's lower and upper campuses and the Trust's headquarters on North Holme Road in the town.

He thanked Assistant Principals Rosie Hermiston, Paul Donnelly and Joe Hermiston for pulling it together and other colleagues involved in the organisation and logistics.

"This training day sends a message to future employees. This is a Trust that wants to employ the best people across a range of teaching and non-teaching roles and supports them with opportunities and professional development once they join.

"It makes me proud to host such a day and lead this Trust."
